Dr. Brett Van Norman, Chiropractic (USA)
Dr. Brett is from Canada and has practiced in various countries all over the world in the bid to help people achieve optimum health. His interests include treating children and families with health concerns that range from ear infections and ADD, to headaches and back pain but he specialises in treatment of spinal disc related injuries, spinal stenosis and peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Brett was nominated for awards for three years in a row, from 2005 to 2007, for business excellence and community contribution. During which, he partnered with Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation to head Kids Day International, a children’s health and safety event held on the same day all over the world. Not only was Dr. Brett the first Chiropractor in the Southern region of Malaysia, he also set up a Charity dedicated to offering free chiropractic services to abandoned, mentally handicapped and seriously injured children. In Singapore since 2007, Dr. Brett is a cigar aficionado and has been an avid fan of ice hockey and golf. He and his wife have three beautiful kids and enjoy living a healthy lifestyle including training with F45 5 times a week!
Dr. Joanna Wilson (NZ)
Dr Joanna (Jo) is originally off a farm in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The country life allowed her to pursue her passion with horses where she went on to represent New Zealand many times in the sport of Eventing. She flew with her horses to compete abroad enjoying numerous successes in both Australia and the U.K. While perfecting her equestrian skills she suffered many falls and as a teenager she was introduced to the wonderful benefits of chiropractic. In later life Dr Jo confesses she became quite the study geek! She attained a B.Sc majoring in Psychology from the University of Auckland, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and latterly a Post Graduate certificate in Sports Medicine, also from the University of Auckland. Apparently she is not finished with studying yet! For the past 5 years, Dr Jo has been working in a busy family oriented practice in Jakarta, Indonesia and this was where her love affair with Asia began. “My time in Indonesia saw me treating tens-of-thousands of patients of all ages, from new-borns through to the very elderly. It’s an extremely rewarding experience to be able to help another human-being improve their quality of life. I’m very excited to be part of the talented team at Advanced Pain Centres and I look forward to sharing my expertise with the people of Singapore”.
Dr. Michael O’Connor
Dr. Michael O'Connor is no newcomer to the field of optimal human performance and non surgical/ non pharmaceutical healing. He worked with paraplegics and quadriplegics in the very early 1980's with his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and helped design and implement the Hyatt Hotel Fitness Centre right here on Scotts Road. He received his doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University East in 1993 and has been in very active practice helping athletes, performers, families and individuals since. Dr. O'Connor has had successful clinics both in Florida ,USA and in Northern Italy. He is the father of four adult children and has been married for 32 years. Dr. Jacob Parsons (USA)
Dr Jake was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota USA. Chronic low back pain in his teenage years led him to seek chiropractic treatment. He became fascinated with the non-invasive approach of healing that the doctor of chiropractic delivered with their hands. With his interest piqued, he decided to dedicate his life to helping others through the art of chiropractic. The American mid-West has instilled in Dr Jake the value of hard work and a deep respect for community. Earning his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences in Minnesota, USA, Dr Jake also recieved a degree in Human Biology. He holds a license to practice chiropractic in the state of North Dakota, USA. He has completed additional training in Activator technique, Sacral Occipital techinique, Webster technique, sports physicals, and holds many other certifications. Dr Jake has eagerly worked with a diverse patient base with internships in the USA, Sri Lanka, and Singapore. Dr. Jake loves giving back to the community and proudly used his training as a chiropractor to volunteer at organizations caring for the homeless and underserved communities in the USA. This is a practice he is excited to continue here in Singapore. In his free time, he enjoys traveling SE Asia, American football, ice hockey, cooking, and downhill skiing. Dr. Jake has become enamored with Singapore and its people, he is proud to now call this home!
Dr. Adelina Ivancuic
Dr. Adelina was born in Eastern Europe, Romania. Her parents moved to New Zealand to provide better education and lifestyle for her and her younger sister. During her high school years, Adelina suffered from chronic low back pain and was introduced to New Zealand College of Chiropractic where she received chiropractic care by one of the enthusiastic students there at the time. Amazed by the benefits of chiropractic treatment, Adelina decided that it’s exactly what she wanted to study.
During her studies at New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Adelina became extremely passionate about health and fitness and realised that she wanted to understand musculoskeletal conditions in more depth. She attended Myofascial Release courses which allowed her to apply these new skills to her patients as an intern, treating many different types of conditions.
Dr. Adelina has cared for numerous patients as an intern at New Zealand College of Chiropractic and is now is extremely thrilled to start her new life chapter in beautiful Singapore.
