Knee Decompression Therapy

How Does Knee Decompression Therapy Work?

Knee Decompression Therapy is a non-invasive therapy to help reduce knee pain. This therapy has been revolutionary for patients suffering from pain.

The device works by isolating the knee and putting it into an effective traction motion to counter pain. It’s a mechanical solution to a mechanical problem – this device mechanically decompresses the joint space, taking pressure off the bones and therefore providing fast relief.

This therapy is known to increase the quality of life of patients who undergo it.

In most cases, included in the therapy is:

Why Choose Knee Decompression?

If you’re struggling with knee pain, arthritis, or stiffness that makes daily life harder, there’s a non-surgical option that could help. Knee decompression therapy is gentle, drug-free, and designed to relieve pressure in your knee joint. Many patients report feeling less pain, moving more easily, and enjoying everyday activities again — without downtime, injections, or the risks that come with surgery. It’s a safer, more affordable way to find lasting relief and get back to walking, bending, and living with confidence.

While painkillers, injections, and massages may provide only short-term comfort, knee decompression works at the source. By gently reducing pressure inside the knee joint and improving joint spacing, it promotes circulation of oxygen and nutrients that support cartilage health. This allows the body to naturally restore mobility, reduce stiffness, and regain function — helping patients move with confidence again.

Causes of Knee Pain That Can Be Improved With Knee Decompression Therapy

The Primary Benefits of Knee Decompression Therapy

Add High-Power Near-Infrared Therapy to the Package

At Advanced Pain Centres we use near infra-red light therapy for pain relief which are very powerful, completely safe and very effective using advanced technology.  Near infra red therapy is the perfect safe, non-invasive alternative to drugs and surgery.

We use the clinical grade near infra red light therapy which is an innovative therapeutic approach to pain relief. Not only does this therapy offer pain relief, it also speeds up recovery times.

How Does Near-Infrared Light Therapy Work?

The lights work by causing vasodilation (increase diameter of blood vessels), which directly helps the release of nitric oxide by the cells in the area.  In this way the body is able to increase healing, circulation and decrease pain.

There are many types of injuries that can occur to the spine. By far the most common issues we see at Advanced Pain Centres stem from some form of degenerative change. This can also be called arthritis or degenerative joint disease. A very common problem to happen to the spine as it absorbs a lot of stress on a daily basis. Gravity and body weight play a role in this as does previous injuries, poor posture over a long period of time and even things like having flat feet.

The tough part about this condition is that usually it goes undetected for years and can often times not exhibit many symptoms until it reaches a later stage.

At Advanced Pain Centres, the consultation fees are standard.

The initial assessment fee includes one therapy*.

(*We can only administer therapy if we find we can help. Images may be required to assess this. If we cannot do therapy then only a
consultation charge will apply).

This is $65 SGD when you pre-pay online or $95 SGD if you choose to pay in clinic.

*By “therapy” we mean: manual therapy and any necessary adjunct therapy, e.g. electrical stimulation, near infra-red light therapy and/or spinal decompression *all depending on condition).

We also have discounted prepaid therapy plan options or pay-per-visit when considering further care that may be needed.

At this time there is no claim possible with CPF.

Other insurances can have some coverage. Please enquire with your insurance agent if you have any doubts. If the condition is because of an accident or injury, it is possible that there is some coverage with your current accident plan if applicable.

At Advanced Pain Centres, we do our best to give as much therapy as we can safely give on the first visit for your specific condition. Depending on the person and condition, an x-ray or other types of tests/imaging my be needed in order to safely and effectively administer therapy.

Most patients do receive therapy on the first visit.
